Update – LMS Review Progress (To Blackboard or Not To Blackboard)

Blackboard LogoAs you all know, we’re currently engaged in an LMS Review (that’s for “Learning Management System” Review).  It’s concerning our academic LMS – for faculty and students.

Notes from our September 5th Taskforce meeting are now available here:  https://elearningandinnovation.com/lms-review/lms-process-and-documents/.

Want the video review of the process?  Check out the video of progress to date that was shown at the Conference Days at each campus below.  This will open in a new window.

  1. Reviewing September 5 notes, I see that the LMS Review team has been asking the right questions. Whatever the eventual choice I am concerned that the college had adequate well-trained support staff in place. Some of these LMS systems may require more support than others and that needs to be factored in.

    1. Good Morning Professor Durkin –
Thank you so much for your kind words about our process. It has been an amazing team effort.
I completely concur regarding the training for support. Beyond the benefits and challenges of any individual LMS system, we’ll be taking into account what a college-wide training, support, and cultural change might look like if we move from Blackboard to something else. It is definitely a huge consideration.
Keep the thoughts coming! The more brains we have on this the better!
      Sasha
